The Spanish lady, Tatiana Ramos, is currently spending her time in her corner in the subzone of Spain showing her visitors her creativity in one of the oldest professions in Europe, related to fine silk fabrics, which is considered one of the foundations of traditional Spanish fashion.
Ramos specializes in weaving the famous “Manila shawl”, whose fame has transcended the borders of Spain to become a symbol of women’s elegance around the world. She shows visitors the method of weaving it that lasts for hours, then presents it as a creative painting drawn by a professional international artist.
She has been working in this craft for many years. She learned it from her mother and grandmother, who spent their lives in this profession, and Ramos continued the journey of the craft and showed unparalleled creativity in it.
Ramos points out that this craft is her great passion, noting that she wanted to transfer her experience from the rural village of Castilla in Spain to the beautiful world of Boulevard World, which includes 10 diverse international subzones.
She adds that the Manila shawl fabric is made of shiny silk made of moulin thread, and embroidery is added to it in the form of flowers and a peacock with its extended feathers. She says that the peacock drawing is the most common in her village, which then spread to become one of the most prominent fashions in the 19th century.
According to Ramos, the Manila shawl is still commonly used in southern Spain in folk performances, noting that she sews the Manila shawl in 3 different sizes.
