The joint workshops between the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) and Merwas have launched yesterday in a musical journey led by musicians and performers from Saudi Arabia and the Arab world, in addition to a number of specialists in the field from various countries around the world, in sponsorship of Music Commission.
The workshops aim to provide an opportunity for young talents in singing and music, as well as its various fields such as oud, organ, violin, drums, piano, flute, guitar, qanun and cello, in addition to musical arrangement, sound engineering, musical rhythms, as well as learning the roles and tasks of the maestro.
Prominent musicians participating in presenting the workshops include Mamdouh Al-Jabali, Islam Al-Qasabji, Khaled Mohammed Ali; violinists Hassan Sharara and Mahmoud Sorour; qanun experts Majid Sorour, Madani Abadi and Imad Zaree; flute players Reda Badir, Mohammad Fouda and Nabil Barjas; professional guitarists Mostafa Aslan, Rocket and Waheed Mamdouh; musical arrangers Tarek Makdour and Khaled Ezz; maestro Walid Fayed; and pianist Iman Shaker.
The workshops organized by GEA and Merwass contribute to helping emerging talents and those seeking an integrated environment to specialize in presenting and producing artistic content. They provide new ideas that align with the requirements of musical content in an ideal environment to improve creative outputs, as well as providing spaces, solutions, and music experts.
Merwass is the largest artistic and entertainment factory in the Arab world, comprising 22 world-class studios and a digital platform for presenting original content from podcasts to series, with a focus on local talents and productions, and two radio stations in Arabic and English, in addition to a music production and distribution company, and an academy specialized in the field of art and music.
