“Artist of the Arabs” Mohammed Abdo held a major “beyond imagination” concert in Riyadh Season 2022, with a legendary performance by the great artist and his friends on the “Artist of Arabs” night. The songs of Abdo ignited the enthusiasm and interaction of the audience, who filled the stands of Mohammed Abdo Arena in Boulevard Riyadh City.
During the event, His Excellency Advisor Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of General Entertainment Authority, said in a phone call: “I hope everyone is happy. Greetings to all attendees. I hope the season will be ‘Beyond Imagination’ with the support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince, our inspiring leader and godfather of the Vision. There will be more and more surprises during the coming nights in our beloved country. Thank you.”
The iconic Saudi and Arab singer appeared on stage to meet his fans. He and his friends held a historic night that will be immortalized in the memory of the attendees and TV viewers who enjoyed every melody and tune.
Fans of the symbol of the Saudi and Arab song, Mohammed Abdo, joined the artist on a journey into a world of fantasy, enjoying the beauty of his songs, which they loved over six decades of artistic creativity of the Artist of Arabs in composing and singing.
More than 80 musicians, led by Maestro Walid Fayed, participated in the Artist of Arabs night. Many songs were presented in the “Medley” manner, topped by the wonderful song “Wikhtalafna” (We disagreed), and the audience chanted along with Abdo “Keif Nekhfi Hobbena wilshoq Fadeh” (How do we hide our love when our longing is so obvious).
The Artist of Arabs welcomed Rabeh Saqer, as the first singer participating in his night, and they sang together many of Abdo’s popular songs. Then he welcomed the rising singer Zena Emad and expressed his admiration for her voice, assuring the audience that they would love her more and more when she sings some of his songs. Then, Kuwaiti singer, Abdullah Al-Ruwaished, appeared on stage and sang the two songs “Al-Basat Ahmadi” and “Abaad”, followed by singer Ayed who performed two of Abdo’s popular songs. Finally, the singer Belqees appeared on stage and sang a couple of Abdo’s songs, after receiving a warm welcome and encouragement from His Excellency Advisor Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of General Entertainment Authority.
The international artist Jose Carreras, the first Spanish opera singer to share the stage with the Artist of Arabs, participated in the concert. His participation is a symbol of mixing Arab and foreign music cultures.
The Mohamed Abdo & Friends concert concluded with a group performance of the Saudi patriotic song “Fouq Ham Al-Sahab” (Above the Clouds), with which the audience interacted eagerly, ending one of the most glorious nights of Riyadh Season 2022.
Mohamed Abdo said that this night, which brought him together with his friends, is one of the most beautiful nights, as it is characterized by exchanging memories with them in front of large audiences. He stressed that it is a great step towards openness that is achieved with wise leadership led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his faithful Crown Prince.
Riyadh Season 2022 offers more than 8,500 activity days, more than 150 musical events, 7 international exhibitions, 17 Arab plays, 8 international shows, in addition to 108 interactive experiences. Its entertainment zones also include 240 stores, 252 restaurants and cafes, firework displays throughout the season, as well as a WWE show and an international football match.
