In its second season, the play “Habibati Man Takun” (Who Is My Love) recreates chapters from the life of the Egyptian star singer Abdel Halim Hafez, aka ‘Al Andalib’ (nightingale). The play reviews aspects of his personal life and artistic career and will be shown at the World Theater in Boulevard Riyadh City starting December 14.
The performance of the second edition of the play is the culmination of the success it witnessed last year. The play also reveals features from Al Andalib’s childhood, through the stages of youth and the beginnings of his success in the world of singing, down to the stage of his illness and death, leaving behind a legacy of immortal art and music.
The play, which was written specifically for Riyadh Season, reviews the many stages that the great singer lived through and the difficult circumstances he faced. It also deals with his love life, which is what the title of the play refers to.
