The General Entertainment Authority in Riyadh celebrated the graduation of the first batch of its intensive external scholarship program, “Entertainment Fellowship,” one of the Happiness Creators programs, as part of the Quality-of-Life Program’s initiatives. The 56 male and female trainees were celebrated in three diverse tracks, combining theoretical education and direct practical applications in collaboration with the best international and local leaders in the entertainment industry.
During the ceremony, His Excellency Advisor Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority, welcomed the attendees and graduates through a recorded speech, announcing that the number of beneficiaries of the Happiness Creators initiative has reached over 45,000 beneficiaries in a short time through the Scholarship Program, Entertainment Leaders Program, Creative Journey around the Kingdom Program, Entertainment Fellowship Program, in addition to diploma programs in the entertainment sector and the e-training platform.
He added: “I am pleased that the Happiness Creators initiative, launched with great support from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the architect of the Vision, is a significant contributor to an important goal, which is to increase the number of Saudis working in the promising entertainment sector in our beloved country.” He emphasized that this large number indicates the significant interest in the entertainment sector from both the private and public sectors, as well as from young men and women who see entertainment as a major industry, believing in a bright future that we live every day.
The ceremony, organized by the General Entertainment Authority on the occasion of the graduation of trainees who gained a set of experiences in the leading universities and companies in the entertainment field, witnessed a video presentation that narrated the story of the program since its inception, in addition to the full details of the journey of the scholarship recipients, culminating in their honoring and receiving the certificates of the General Entertainment Authority Fellowship Program.
The Fellowship, one of the Happiness Creators initiatives, was held in partnership with the University of Central Florida in the United States and the Event Academy in Britain. Its goal was to transfer experiences from different parts of the world to serve the Kingdom. It also represented a turning point in the journey of the trainees who will contribute, through the experiences they have gained, to enriching life, drawing happiness, and achieving the targets of the vision of the country.
The Entertainment Fellowship Program’s external scholarship seeks to qualify trainees in three tracks. The first track is entertainment destinations, aiming to develop the necessary skills and experiences for managing and operating entertainment sites. The second track is entertainment events, which deals with organizing festivals, concerts, theatrical performances, coordinating them, and executing them. Finally, the electronic entertainment track, which focuses on events related to digital and electronic games, coordinating competitions and exhibitions, and operating them.
The program relies on three main pillars in its training journey, which are the development of national human resources in the entertainment fields that are in line with the strategies of the General Entertainment Authority, benefiting from international specialized experiences in the entertainment fields and transferring their knowledge and experiences to the Kingdom, and finally, becoming fully familiar with the various details of the entertainment fields that the Authority focuses on in its future vision for developing the sector.
