Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of General Entertainment Authority, launched on Friday, October 21, the activities of Riyadh Season 2022 in Riyadh Vibes zone with an international carnival that witnessed the first show in the Middle East of more than 3,200 drones, an international concert by the British singer Anne-Marie, and colorful fireworks that lit up the sky of the capital, Riyadh, at the opening of the entertainment event, which topped the global trend on Twitter.
Alalshikh delivered an opening speech in which he said: “I extend my sincere thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and to His Highness, the Crown Prince, the godfather of the Vision and our inspiring leader, for the attention, planning and support given to the entertainment sector in general and Riyadh Season, in particular. Finally, I announce the opening of Riyadh Season in its third edition “Beyond Imagination”. “Welcome to Riyadh Season”.
The ceremony, during which Alalshikh received the torch of the Saudi Games, began with songs from Saudi folklore, many roaming shows and Cirque du Soleil international show, in an atmosphere of fun and enthusiasm for the activities of the season, which is the largest entertainment event of its kind in the region.
The ceremony, which was attended by a large audience who arrived early, included an artistic presentation about the 15 zones of the season, as well as performances paving the way for the opening of the entertainment zones for this year’s season.
Moreover, the season launch ceremony featured a number of action games, gymnastics, high wire shows, motorcycle shows, fire breathing, swinging poles, acrobatics show, jumping through the rings, and dancing to the tunes of international orchestral music.
The activities of Riyadh Season this year include new spaces and zones that attract visitors with their activities and modern experiences.
