The "Riyadh Zoo" zone officially opened Thursday as part of Riyadh Season 2025, offering visitors one of the richest entertainment experiences of the season. Spanning 161,000 square meters in the Al Malaz district, the zone brings the diversity and atmosphere of the wildlife world to life with immersive natural settings.
Visitors explored the zones of “Riyadh Zoo,” enjoying close-up views of the animals and moving through diverse environments inspired by natural habitats. The walkways were filled with lively roaming performances that engaged families and children, while the daily stage shows added a vibrant entertainment atmosphere throughout the zone.
The zoo features over 1,600 animals representing 170 species, distributed across six main thematic zones designed to mirror natural habitats from different continents: Pink Lake, Wild Adventure, Enchanted Forest, The Swamp, Ape Escape, and Almalaz Bay. Each zone presents a distinct environment, beginning with Pink Lake, home to a broad collection of vibrant birds, before moving into Wild Adventure, which hosts a wide range of African mammals, and concluding with The Swamp, the heart of the zoo and home to crocodiles and rare reptiles.
The zone offers a wide range of interactive experiences, including animal feeding, educational workshops for children, and new experiences introduced for 2025 such as the Elephant Experience, which allows visitors to observe elephants up close during natural behavioral moments, and the Giraffe & African Exhibit, featuring an elevated viewing bridge that brings visitors closer to giraffes and elands.
"Riyadh Zoo" also hosts daily live performances on the main stage, including Silly Brothers, Blue Clown Circus, Magician Show, and Bubbles Show. In addition, roaming performances such as Jungle Friends, Music Band & Drummers, and Flamingo Stilts move through the pathways, creating a lively atmosphere that keeps the experience engaging throughout the day.
The zone features comprehensive hospitality services including restaurants, kiosks, food carts, a dedicated retail area, and interactive activity zones designed for children. Its layout allows visitors to move gradually between different environments, simulating a seamless journey across global habitats while providing safe and close-up animal viewing.
"Riyadh Zoo" welcomes visitors daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a capacity of up to 12,000 visitors, making it one of the largest open-air destinations of the season. Tickets are available for booking through the Webook app.
