HE Turki bin Abdulmohsen Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), announced today (Tuesday) the launch of the nomination phase for the upcoming “Joy Awards 2026,” one of the most prominent and influential entertainment events in the region. The ceremony will take place next January under the umbrella of Riyadh Season, in partnership with MBC Group, which will broadcast the event live on its television channels and on the “Shahid” platform.
The awards ceremony, hosted in Riyadh at ANB Arena, celebrates leading figures in film, drama, music, directing, sports, and Arab influencers—within a showcase recognized as the largest of its kind in the Middle East.
The nomination phase begins today, allowing the public to nominate their favorite stars and works through the free JOY AWARDS application, available on the App Store and Google Play. Four nominees with the highest number of submissions in each category will advance to the next stage.
The organizing committee has also enabled users to submit requests to add new names or works if they are not listed among the suggested options—provided that these works were released in 2025 or that the artists achieved notable accomplishments during the same year. This approach enhances public participation and ensures a more inclusive and flexible nomination process.
