His Excellency Turki bin Abdulmohsen Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), crowned Italian star Jannik Sinner (World No.2) as the champion of the “Six Kings Slam 2025” after defeating his Spanish rival Carlos Alcaraz (World No.1) in a thrilling and entertaining final that drew a massive crowd, led by His Excellency the Minister of Media Mr. Salman Al-Dosari, His Excellency the Governor of the Public Investment Fund Mr. Yasir Al-Rumayyan, and Eng. Amin Nasser, President and CEO of Saudi Aramco.
Over the course of three days, ANB Arena hosted one of the most prominent tennis tournaments in the world as part of Riyadh Season. All tickets were sold out in advance, and the event was broadcast live on Netflix to more than 300 million subscribers around the globe—once again underscoring Riyadh’s position as a leading global destination for major international events.
Jannik Sinner was crowned champion of the “Six Kings Slam 2025” and received the Golden Racket trophy, made of 24-carat gold and specially crafted by Riyadh Season for this tournament. The award was presented to him by H.E. Yasir Al-Rumayyan after his straight-sets victory over Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz (6-2, 6-4) in a thrilling final.
With this triumph, Sinner became the first player in history to win the title twice and the first to claim it without dropping a single set throughout the tournament, reaffirming his dominance in his renewed rivalry with Alcaraz.
Sinner delivered a complete performance, combining power, composure, and confidence—making full use of his precision on serve and his exceptional ability to return deep balls. Alcaraz attempted a comeback in the second set but was unable to break the Italian’s dominance.
In the third-place match, American Taylor Fritz (World No.4) secured third place after winning the first set against Serbian Novak Djokovic (World No.5) 7-6, before Djokovic was forced to retire due to ongoing physical issues.
The opening set featured fierce competition that lasted 75 minutes with multiple service breaks and breaks-back. Djokovic saved nine break points and had four chances to close out the set at 5-4, but Fritz ultimately clinched it after a long battle that peaked in the tiebreak.
After the match, Djokovic said the set was “one of the longest I have ever played,” noting that he chose to retire out of respect for his body and to prepare for upcoming competitions. Fritz expressed his happiness at finishing third in what he described as one of the most remarkable experiences of his career.
The tournament kicked off on Wednesday with a stunning hologram show that combined cutting-edge technology with visual spectacle. Opening day saw Taylor Fritz defeat Alexander Zverev, while Jannik Sinner advanced after overcoming Stefanos Tsitsipas, in front of an enthusiastic crowd that shared the excitement with the world via Netflix.
On Day Two, the level of competition rose as Alcaraz and Djokovic entered the fray. Alcaraz produced a balanced performance to beat Taylor Fritz in straight sets, while Sinner continued his impressive form and eliminated Djokovic in a strong contest, setting up yet another showdown with his Spanish rival in a rematch of last year’s final.
The final carried historic significance, as it marked the fifth final between Alcaraz and Sinner in 2025. The Riyadh final was their sixth meeting in a championship match this year, making the tournament one of the standout events in modern tennis. Alcaraz is known for his physical strength and aggressive speed, while Sinner relies on precision and tactical composure—making every matchup between them tightly contested and often decided by the smallest of margins.
Their rivalry has become one of the most compelling in tennis, with each player pushing the other to elevate his level. They consistently produce matches of the highest tactical and mental quality, and many consider them the future of global tennis—making the Riyadh final one of the most anticipated matches of the 2025 season.
