Otr Elkalam is the world’s first competition show to combine Quran recitation and the call to prayer (Adhan) in one platform. The show is organized and supervised by the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and airs on the Saudi Channel.
The competition welcomes participants from around the world with easy and accessible digital registration methods that do not require travel. Over 40,000 contestants from 80 countries took part across the two categories (recitation and Adhan). The entries went through four online qualifying rounds before reaching the final stages, which are broadcast during the holy month of Ramadan on the Otr Elkalam program.

Launched in 2019, the competition aims to highlight the most beautiful voices in the recitation and melodic delivery of the Quran and Adhan. With total prizes worth 12 million SAR (approximately $3.2 million USD), it is the largest prize pool globally for a Quran and Adhan competition, and among the largest talent prizes in the world in their respective fields.

The competition jury is composed of a distinguished panel of experts in Quranic competitions. It includes muezzins from the Two Holy Mosques, some of the world’s most renowned Quran reciters, and leading judges from prestigious international Quran competitions.
