Yesterday, December 10, the performance of the play “Sayidati Al Jamila” (My Fair Lady), which started on December 6, was concluded in Riyadh Season 2022 at Bakr Al-Sheddi Theater in Boulevard Riyadh City.
The play is one of the most famous plays held within the activities of Riyadh Season. It was co-written by two international literary giants. The original text was written by George Bernard Shaw, winner of the Nobel and Oscar awards, while its poems were written by Abdel Wahhab Mohammed, whose famous lyrics “Fakkarouni” was composed by Mohammed Abdel Wahhab and sung by star singer Umm Kulthum,
The performance of the play, which was first shown in 1969, came as part of the activities of Riyadh Season 2022. The play is starring Ahmed El-Sakka, Reem Mustafa, Mohammed Abdel-Rahman and Alaa Morsi. The original 1969 edition was starring the late Fouad Al-Mohandes and Shweikar.
The play had an excellent plot, which contributed to the audience’s enjoyment. The story of the play revolves around Kamal, who is robbed by a female pickpocket called Sudfa. He admires her chaotic and quarrelsome personality and decides to teach her the rules of etiquette.
