At Riyadh Homecoming Festival, Saudi Girl Creates Stationery with Traditional Drawings and Arab Identity

Sep 2, 2022

At the Riyadh Homecoming festival, a Saudi girl created stationery engraved with traditional drawings and elements of the Arab identity and turned them into designs printed on gifts and school supplies offered for sale to visitors of the festival, which is the first of its kind in the Kingdom.
The Saudi girl Sarah Al-Ghamdi, through her store “Seen”, aims to change the patterns of traditional Arabic stationery designs to new shapes that suit the tastes and interests of the festival’s visitors. She was inspired by the designs of the local heritage combined with a modern feel, enlivened by the colors.
The area dedicated to “Seen” at the Riyadh Homecoming festival includes various products, such as calendars, canvas bags, gifts engraved with Arabic inscriptions, and various traditional scripts that are part of the region’s culture.
The Hijri calendar in the “Seen” store is distinguished by its designs, colors and options that caught the attention of visitors. The calendar comes in many designs, some are hung on the wall and others look like a book. All forms of the Hijri calendar are covered with expressions that derive their exquisiteness from the distinctive Arabic fonts.
The festival, which continues until 5 September, welcomes visitors from 6:00 pm to 12:00 midnight on weekdays, and from 6:00 pm to 1:00 am on weekends. Entry tickets cost SAR20 each and can be booked via the link:
