Many participants in the “Riyadh Winter Baloot” Championship praised the unique organization seen in the third edition of the Championship, which started yesterday (Thursday) evening in a joyful atmosphere.
The competitions are held under the supervision of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) with the direction of Chairman of GEA HE Turki bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Sheikh and organized by the Saudi Federation for Electronic and Intellectual Sports (SAFEIS).
Hani Al-Beshr, a third-round finalist, said, “I’m happy that we were among the winning teams on the first day of the third baloot championship. I am looking forward to the title.”He added, “I have been practicing the game for 20 years and would like to thank GEA for the considerable attention the game received and for organizing championships bringing together young Saudi men and women in competitions.”
Saud Al-Met’eb, a competitor, thanked GEA for the perfect organization and praised the support and care of its Chairman, especially as it is the second popular game after football in Saudi Arabia. He said that he is joined by his friend in the game with whom he has been playing for many years.
Another participant, Majed Al-Qahtani, complimented the exceptional organization, especially with the participation of more than 18 teams, as well as the big cash prizes amounting to SAR2 million (USD532,360) that fired up the competition. He said that all conditions to facilitate the competition are fully met, including the number of tables, match schedule, and an adequate number of judges and supervisors.
“Ballot is a popular game played everywhere in the country. It does not require complicated preparations as in the case of other popular games, which explains the championship’s high demand,” added Al-Qahtani, while expecting fierce competition for the title.
It is noteworthy to mention that the “Riyadh Winter Baloot” Championship is in its third edition with prizes totaling some USD532,360. It will continue until February 22.
