Chairman of General Entertainment Authority, Turki Alalshikh, announced yesterday, Saturday, October 29, the launch of the city of Anime Town Japan, as part of the activities of Riyadh Season 2022. Alalshikh said that the entertainment that visitors experienced during the past days at the Saudi Anime Expo will extend through the new city to the end of the season with activities, events and concerts hosted as part of Japan in Boulevard World north of the capital, Riyadh.
According to Alalshikh, the new anime city will be the largest of its kind in the world, as it will contain 4 areas: Anime Verse Street, Nakamise Street, Shibuya, and Matsuri Marine. It will also include giant models, 5 landmarks, 3 theaters, more than 350 entertainment shows and 11 anime exhibitions.
Anime Verse Street includes 6 anime exhibitions, 3 stores, in addition to more than 25 entertainment experiences that include food items related to the world of anime, while Nakamise Street contains more than 6 entertainment games experiences, a traditional shopping street, a mini market, and a Japanese salon.
Shibuya hosts Akihabara Games Center, Anime Exhibition, the Japanese House of Horror, robots and major concerts. Matsuri Marine receives visitors at Yatai Garden, 4 anime exhibitions, Yagura Theater, sports tournaments, and One-Piece Theater.
