As part of the activities of Riyadh Season 2022, star singer Abdullah Al-Ruwaished held a wonderful concert, in the midst of a large audience, who enjoyed and interacted with Al-Ruwaished’s songs, in honor and appreciation for his 42-year singing career.
Before the start of his concert, Al-Ruwaished was presented by 25 performers from the Kuwaiti Art Band before he ascended stage, which reflected an ideal picture that reviewed a documentary of Al-Ruwaished’s career that extended since the end of the 1970s and documented the most prominent events in his concerts.
In a phone call, His Excellency Advisor Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of General Entertainment Authority, praised the concert, saying: “Today we honor a great artist, a historical voice in the Gulf, and one of the pillars of Arab art. I consider him, along with the artist Abdul Karim Abdul Qadir, one of the top Kuwaiti artists. I welcome the audience from Kuwait and all Arab countries.” He added that the concert was broadcast on dozens of TV channels, including Rotana and the Kuwaiti Al-Rai channel, stressing that Kuwaitis are Saudis and vice versa.
The concert, which was held at Mohammed Abdu Arena in Boulevard Riyadh City, was distinguished by a diverse presence from the Gulf countries, who enjoyed Al-Ruwaished’s songs, starting with the song “Rihalti” (My Journey), a reminder of the beginnings of his artistic career, before he became popular in the Arab world.
Before ascending to the stage, Al-Ruwaished expressed his pride in this honorary night, noting that he would present something of Al-Ruwaished’s artistic history, expressing his thanks to His Excellency Advisor Turki Alalshikh for this special night and his gratitude to the star artists who participated in the concert with him, noting that such a great concert could only be held in Saudi Arabia.
Nawal Al-Kuwaitia was one of the first participants in the concert. She performed a duo with Al-Ruwaished, amid great interaction from the audience. Nawal is the most Gulf star to sing with Al-Ruwaished.
All the stars of the night also sang with him in duos, including Khaled Al-Sheikh, Ali bin Mohammed and Aseel Abu Bakr.
The joyous night was not without surprises, as Al-Ruwaished introduced his companion, the artist Khaled Al-Mulla, who sang “Ala Kather Al-Oyoun.” The two stars performed wonderfully on Oud.
The General Entertainment Authority, represented by Mr. Ahmed Al-Mahmadi, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communication, honored Abdullah Al-Ruwaished in appreciation of his great art in developing the Gulf song.
Al-Ruwaished excelled in his singing by presenting a musical model that mixed emotional, sad and poetic songs, with dramatic songs, forming a wonderful portrait that was full of achievements throughout his artistic career.
